1 Postal Code Structure
Thai postal codes are 5-digit numbers.
- First 2 digits: Province (Changwat / จังหวัด)
- Last 3 digits: District (Amphoe / อำเภอ) and Subdistrict (Tambon / ตำบล)
Example: 10110 → 10 = Bangkok / 110 = Wattana District, Khlong Toei Nuea Subdistrict
2 Bangkok Special Rules
Bangkok is a special administrative area.
- Uses "Khet" (เขต) instead of "Amphoe".
- All postal codes start with "10" (e.g., 10100, 10500, 10900).
- Multiple postal codes can exist within the same Khet.
How to Write Thai Addresses Correctly
Thai addresses are written from "specific → general" (smallest unit to largest unit), which is opposite to Western format.
